What head gasket you all using on your boosted application with say 20 lbs of boost? Will Cometic three-layer work or do you all just go copper?

I would use cometic. With as many layers as possible in the desired thickness.

Could not pay me to use copper.

I've used SCE copper head gaskets on a lot of roots blown Mopar motors as well as on SB and BB blown Chevy motors. On your deal I would have the block and heads machine for receiver grooves and use steel wire O rings on the block or heads, your choice and receiver grooves on the other parts up scope
I've been able to reuse them several times after they have been raced ad driven on the street, you must anneal them each time before using them to get them soft again so they reseal good and properly wrench scope up
SCE makes them in several different versions for blown motors, talk to their techs to see which ones they recommend for your deal. 661-728-9200 scope up
I'm going to use them on my new heads up no prep B1-MC crank driven supercharged motor on E85 with north of 30 Lbs. of boost, hopefully they will seal real well on that combination luck

Have you had a bad personal experience with copper gaskets?

Cab.....My plan is to get the turbos mockup on this block then transfer this setup over to an aftermarket block.

Yes. Just my opinion but I very much dislike them.

Have to re-torque after heat cycling and was never able to get them to seal perfectly be it coolant or combustion.

I think MLS is in all ways superior.

With a 4.840" bore spacing, a 4.56" bore with a wedge head, copper is all you can get (at least it used to be). To be fair though we never had any issues.

Not boost but 250 shot of nitrous with Cometics and no issues.

Re-used them a couple of times now.

Cometic. up
I also just dislike using copper gaskets. They work fine and all, but dealing w/ o-rings on the deck and silicone to stop water leaks is just a pain in the hind end.

I was told by the owner of SCE to use a coating of spray on "Copper Coat" to help seal them on stock blocks and heads, that has work well for me up scope
They have added a bunch of different options on the copper head gaskets now such as teflon linings around all the water ports in the block and heads to help seal them up upscope

Cometic has a fairly new 5 layer gasket that works pretty well on the boosted stuff.....NOT cheap.
