In that Chally in your sig? You would at least need to lift the engine a bit and remove some steering gear to be able to slide it out and back in. I have never tried it but I'm sure you could do it with a few more inches of clearance.. I would try it anyway..

I swapped one on a 67 b body, only had to drop centerlink. (440)

Sometimes you may need to turn the crank so the counterweights clear the edge of the sump or flange; pretty sure you'll have to raise the motor a bit on a BB.
I can have the big drag-race pan out & back into my SB Duster in 20 minutes by pulling the drag link (passes through the pan) & rotating the crank to a position I marked on the balancer, without raising the motor, but obviously that's a different setup than yours.

BigBlock E Body? Just drop the centerlink. No need to raise engine. As mentioned in an earlier post you might need to rotate the crank slightly to clear the pan.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I just went from a deep sump with external to a circle track type in a 69 B body, so should be the same deal.

Drop c-link and I had to jack up the engine an inch or so to get at some bolts. you might be able to get by without that deal but I have big hands and arms and I can't reach stuff sometimes.

I want my fair share

It could be I kinda doubt it. The pickup would be the real concern i would have. Mine was easy to remove sine it was external.

I jacked it up using the pan, did the front bolts, then let it down. Did the opposite to replace the new pan. Worked great. Could have used the cherry picker but I didn't want to dig it out of the corner.
