This is my best friends hemi. We had both been collecting parts for several years. He passed away from cancer in 2020. I really had not felt like working in my shop since. Too busy with being personal rep for his estate. We had been friends for 58 years. Took me a little while but with coaxing from family and friends I'm back on my car. Long story short I have decided to finish and run his engine in my car. Mine needs machine work and is a more radical efi version. , His, we were trying to finish first and all machine work is done. Engine - 572 hemi. KB block. Scat crank, Scat 7.1 rods. JE 10.5 pistons. I will cc everything to get accurate compression ratio. Heads stage v customs, clean up and good valve job. Stage v rockers. Stage v dual quad intake. A pair of 800 avs 2s. ignition msd distributor and pertronix 510 box and coil. milodon road race pan, & pump. Jesel belt drive. BHJ damper. Lifters are bam solid rollers. He had 2 cams purchased for his engine and I would like to run one that he had chosen. His valve springs will work with either. Not wanting to bleed off a lot of cylinder pressure or be a slug down low. Pump gas. Street car. 3500 convertor 3.73 gears. 12.5x29.5 drag radial Cam #1. Comp solid roller 258/266 @ .050. Lift is .624/.575. Lsa 115...... Cam #2. Comp solid roller 260/269 @..050 Lift is .673/.639 Lsa109....... Both are a valve train friendly lobe according to comp. Out of these 2 choices which would you run? And why? Honestly I may end up trying them both, which would you start with. Always appreciate your input. Thanks, Galen

2nd ,but I like a rumble. Big motor will make it less rowdy but it's going to hit a lick

Have you asked Jeff Dickey what he would use? I'm sure he would go with the more radical one.
You recommended him to me to do my 440 a couple of years ago. I am very happy with the 512 he built. It has a custom Comp roller grind. 243 int / 251 exh @ .050 lsa 113.0.
It was speced as hydraulic, but was very noisy. We put in solid rollers and quieted it down somewhat.

74 Challenger, bought it new. In 1978 I replaced the original 318 with a 446 and 727. Mild cam, Jardine headers, and Holley Sniper EFI.
New engine! 511" RB, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Eagle rotating assy, Comp hyd roller cam, Doug's 2" headers.

if your more interested on driving power below 5000 RPM put the 109 LSA cam in it and install it around 106 ILC.
The street driven Hemiroid motors don't like real close lobe centers just like they don't like wide ones on the street.
I've learned that the closer LSA make more bottom end and less high RPM power and the wider LSA ones sacrifice low end power for more top end power, have you had any other motor or car that will make the kind of power these parts will make?
If not be careful out there luck
If so, go have some fun devil hammer up

No worries Cab. In 1974 when we first started driving he ran a 70 440 cuda 4 speed. I ran a 67 GTX 440 4 speed we would drive them back and forth to work during the week and follow each other to the old kcir raceway for friday night grudge racing. I gave 700$ for mine with the engine in pieces in the trunk. I think he gave 1500$ for his Cuda if I remember right. I know these are not huge cams compared to what a lot of you are running. Any guesses on where torque curve and peak power would be on each one?

I'd use cam #2 b/c it's bigger and this is a 572" motor. It's still smaller than I'd want in that motor. I'd want more stall also. The belt drive seems out of place for this build.

Cam #1 is small and has a real wide LSA which I'm not a fan of for NA.
