I believe their GT class is for engines swapped into cars that didn't have the specific engine available, and also FWD cars that are converted to RWD. I'm not that interested in anything other than Stock and Super Stock or I'd look it up.

If the car/combination is not in the NHRA stock car classification guide it is not eligible to compete in stock eliminator. However, some of the engine swaps may be legal to compete in super stock GT classes. The best way to find what is and what is not is to call NHRA for clarification, BUT...if you are planning on building a GT class car, make sure you get that approval in writting, not that it'll hold up but at least you have some proof down the road. Last but not least, study the rules for those classes very carefully and over-look nothing...
