Nothing wrong with INDY's intake. Don't confuse INDY of OLD vs. INDY and the new owners. Completely different.

Can an Edlelbrock RPM intake be ported to Max Wedge size? My Trickflow intake that I will have ported to match my 270 heads keeps getting pushed out. Edelbrock Super Victor required a domanitor and I don't have space for a plate convertor. And I'm not knocking them but I don't see great, consistent feedback on Indy. So was hoping I could use an Edelbrock of some type and have ported. You must have missed the recent discussions on Edelbrock's quality issues, lol Indy has gotten better, Edelbrock gotten worse.

Can an Edlelbrock RPM intake be ported to Max Wedge size? No. Indy's dual-plane RB intake can be, if you're hoping to stay with that stye of intake.

Edelbrock just moved their factilites and by all accounts are having casting issues.

How certain are you about needing to weld up to port to max wedge size? I called Trickflow after your response and they said that is not the case. They'll tell you that it isn't the case since they don't sell a MW intake. If they sold a MW intake then they would tell you that you needed it. If you want to make power then you need a MW intake. If you are okay giving up some power then a std port intake will work on a MW head as long as you have enough material to keep the gasket sealed up. I've tested this on the dyno before and there is a difference in power in a race engine. In a street engine it might not make any difference at all. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/dyno-day-trick-flow-270-mopar-heads/

This I all I got. I have a standard port tunnel ram that was used on factory max Wedge heads. It was welded. I also have what looks like a CH4B with a dominator carb flange. It was also modified to fit Max Wedge heads. It has been welded to raise the ports. Hope it helps.

I don’t know how extensively TF “port matched” the manifold for this test, but they got pretty good results using their manifold. https://static.trickflow.com/global/images/chartsguides/t/tfs-61617801-c01_wj.pdfThe cam doesn’t have tons of duration, and combined with the std port window......the combo peaks pretty early, and looks like the curve is dropping off.

Trick Flow developed an RB MW 4500 intake a couple of years ago and never put it into production. It was on display at SEMA and PRI shows in fall of 2019 ==> HERE

Interesting that they never put that 4500 MW intake into production. Perhaps they figured that it was nothing more than a Super Victor clone so why bother. Chicken and egg? Perhaps without an available intake they were not selling enough 270 heads to justify producing the intake. . I really need a pounding head against the wall emoji.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Another option for something that is flat hood friendly is the MP 337 manifold(part number P4876337).
They haven’t been made for several years, but pop up for sale on various sites from time to time.
It’s a fairly low profile single plane, with a 4150 carb flange and MW ports.
