How about a 46rh or 46re to use instead of the 727 w/gv?

Is the OD ratio on a Gear Vendors even worth it? If you don't mind the fabrication work to the tunnel 518 is the way to go. Hell of a lot cheaper too.

I'm building a 71 Roadrunner with a Gen III Hemi and I am deciding upon transmission. I have looked at the 4L60E conversions and prefer to keep a 727 but want an overdrive. Curious for input from anyone using a gear vendors overdrive setup. If you have pics of your finished install, that would be great. What are you expecting for HP and torque ?

The $3300+ cost would be better off with an upgraded factory transmission that already has overdrive built in. There are now lots of options if someone is willing to do the work.
