line pressure,(518 46rh)
i have a direct gauge on my car to check LP, it had 70psi in 1-2-3 gears at idle. i manually activated the kick down lever, it had 110 at idle,
i have a 3800lbs car with over 700pound feet of torque.
i want to ad LP. when i backed the adjuster screw out 2 full turns the gauge starts to flutter 70-90 1-2-3 and 110-120 with KD activated, all at idle.
what can i do to add psi but stop the fluttering.…
trans-go kit in VB
also, no psi in p-r -n at idle

Your line pressure is a little higher than stock which is predictable with the Transgo kit. To get more pressure you'll need a regulator spring with a higher value

My Tgo kit for 518 came with a stronger spring

Yes, but that spring is designed for a specific pressure range...pretty much what the OP has.

What engine speed did you experience the flutter ?

Record that speed, the raise the engine speed higher with the lever back and report back - still fluttering? Less/more?

most likely the flutter at idle is that you are maxing out the output of your pump. the flutter is the pressure relief valve bouncing as the pump struggles at max demand. Making sure all the clearances in the pump are good and tight, is the only thing I know that will help. But you may be asking more than your pump will deliver, as long as it has enough pressure at speed it should hold up just fine. Check the pressure in reverse, that is normally the max pressure the pump can build. Look at the stock specs you will see reverse is almost twice what the forward gears are.

The pump is capable of putting out over 300 psi at idle so it's not a lack of pump capacity. The regulator is the key.

Some full-race VB's regulators are set up to over 200 psi line pressure, not sure how it's done.

John is you talking about the stock pumps for the 727/518?
Op consider this a bump i'v been keeping scope on this thread i'm also curios about line pressure too.

Yes, stock pump. The pump is capable of much higher pressure than the regulator allows.

Thanks John up...i imagine that can cause stress on the lugs on the pump causing them to break due to increase pressure work
