Whoever put the valvetrain together wasn't paying attention. Better pull the whole engine apart and check everything. Agreed. Thread should be titled "engine builder failure"

Yes I agree it needs to come out. Your rocker tip alignment is whack. MOST likely due to a pushrod rubbing problem that is common to those rockers. Instead of grinding for clearance they just moved the tip halfway off the valve. You need lash caps as well from the looks of it, again fairly common on hemi engines. From the looks of it you most likely got lucky that it did not drop a valve. Todd with this and all statments made prior...
