These will have to be used to get the pipes hooked back up to the mufflers and stacks on a Lil Red truck. I’ll probably keep the clang after thinking more because I’ll have to make up and weld entire exhaust to the mufflers, has a crossover connector between each side, balance I guess. Original has ball ends.
are the OEM pipes for a BB? I would think it would use 2 center dump BB manifolds like the SB center dump mannys. I ran 2 center dump mannys on my d100 440 truck then hedman 79250.
I know what a SB set of stacks look like. with center dump manifolds and the down pipes/cross over/under frame cross over/muffs outside frame tucked up under the rocker with the step/stack hook up.
what are you willing to live with is the ? are you willing to cut/weld/modify the pipes you have? remove them and fab up a custom set of pipes with stacks?
I have run several mud trucks with center dump manifolds and some custom pipe work going under frame to outside frame like a LRE. then modify that to run long tube headers. I have done a few custom pipe/clone stacks on stepsides.
have it outside the frame on my sons 94 ram 1500. he has a set of ram tube manifold replacements - ram headers.
IIRC the best place to cross under frame is at the OEM spot. you don't "HAVE" to have the cross over tube. but it is supposed to balance and add HP. it can also be replaced with x-tube or relocated in the system further down stream.
I just did my SB stepside with a set of hedman long tubes/2.5 straight pipe/2.5 in/out magnaflows/ 2.5 tail pipes turned out right in the middle of the step...1 cut - add a 90* - hook up a set of oem stacks.
my main reason is/was the clearance for trans R&R. but on my stepside with the straight pipe set up in the frame rails it is 3 collector bolts and bolt on pipe hanger.
I would suggest 2 center dump BB manifolds over those shortys with a small modification to an SB OEM head pipe keeping as much of it as possible.
save it? chop it? customize it?
any local muff shops around? main thing is to find one that will build what you want the way you want it. my shop didn't understand at first but then I explained it is a mopar and not a chevy. now they get it when they R&R the trans for me. LOL!
