Thats a known bad TPS condition. My Dakota would flare randomly just like that. Good luck, I'm not hearing good things about non OEM replacement TPS Like almost any part on anything these days, expect to change the "new" parts out about every 2-3 years. If the parts make it to 5 years, you had really good parts.

Most likely a bad TPS they wear out in the most used position idle or hiway speed you normally run at. Rare that they would set a code as the PCM just thinks you push hard on the pedal. Sometimes with scanner reading TPS degrees you can slightly tap it and watch it go erratic.
