Andy, I think a pair of those clear top valve covers with an interchangeable solid top would be pretty slick. Put the clear on for inspection/ dyno/troubleshooting, (or to show off haha) then swap the solid top on for regular use.

Does the bolt on top clear a distributor or is a belt drive distributor required with those valve covers?

"..A little known fact about factory heads is that the valve cover bolt holes are not square to the rail. They are all tipped toward the intake side. Also the rail area where the bolts are drilled are also tipped. This means a flat surfaced valve cover will not sit evenly on a factory cast head." quoted from TRENDZ

I discovered that when I put studs in the "452" heads I used on my '64 Polara and tried fitting the Mopar Performance cast valve covers on the engine in the car. I had to slot the holes to make them fit mad

It would be great if someone fabricated aluminum valve covers that were tilted the 15*, like the OEM valve covers, for use on cast iron heads. I would buy a set real quick.

I made my second gen valve covers with the exhaust side laid over at an angle to provide more clearance for the HP manifolds.

Andy, is that plexi glass or lexan or? that you used for the clear top. I have seen some SS semi cars with clear tops. I think Wescott used to make them for Hemis.

It is clear polycarb. I'm not sure if the shop buys LEXAN or some other brand.

I don't have any for sale right now but I can make more. They cost $1000 per set.

I haven't weighed them. They are a little heavier than a cast cover. They can be made lighter but it takes more machine time.

I don't have any B1 dimensions so no I can't make spacers for them. But it isn't very hard to do if you own B1 heads. Just use a set of valve covers as a template to start with. That will probably get you close enough and then go from there. Or call up Koffel and ask them for a drawing so you can get some spacers made.

I painted the covers engine color. I prefer the painted look, the shiny billet look just seems to distracting.

From what I've seen the new Trick Flow cast covers are going to look a lot like my billet covers. If that is the case then you can save a ton of money by getting the Trick Flow cast covers and milling off the Trick Flow name. Not sure when they are going to be available but I've seen some pictures of them and they look pretty good.
