Has anyone ever done this before? Fitting the new intake, it teeter's on the corners of the steel valley pan/intake gasket. Reliefing the corners allowed the intake to seat much better and didn't require pressing a hard 90* into the outer corners of the steel gasket, The gasket sealer fills the very small and softer corner just fine. I hope this doesn't open a oil leak issue on my build.

If you wouldn’t of checked that or seen
You would have been wondering why your going thru quarts of oil getting sucked into the intake ports of your heads , along with the possibly of oil fouled spark plugs Not necessarily a leak on the outside , but definetly internal
Good catch

Interference at the corners should always be checked…with ANY manifold. Relieving a bit is not uncommon. Thanks, I hadn't noticed any other manifolds relieved in that way before. I feel much better knowing someone smarter/more experienced than myself approves of the modification to fit it better. Thanks Copper

Good catch Not to mention the tuning headaches and possible ruining an O2 sensor mixture monitor. You guys are great answering all of my questions. Copper

I took some pictures of the bolt hole alignment on both sides after relieving the corners of the intake manifold. You couldn't ask for a better alignment and fit! Copper

Some of the stock valley pan steel hold downs have a beveled edge on one side on both ends It does the same thing for clearing the intake ends Yes sir and thank you , I noticed the bevel (hard to see on the picture) and installed it face up. Copper
