2001 Ram Van 360 auto, trans didn’t seem to be shifting right, quick into second with a slight back drag. So I adjusted the kick down cable to up the pressure. Now a little better in second but I have to lift to go into third and overdrive, adjusted the cable 3 so far trying to get back to original place, close but still early shift into second. About 30,000 miles on total rebuild and new vert.
Any ideas?

back then dad worked for a mopar dealer. they had a lot of that. they called it "lift foot syndrome". had to let off gas pedal to shift. tsb about drum and piston problem. tsb gave new part number for piston and drum he said if he remembers right. john k. should be along soon.

Simple fix! MY MISTAKE. The three screws on the TCC and 3-4 solenoid pack were not even finger tight, been like that for 30 thousand miles. When I did the valve body, trans overhaul I just overlooked tighting them. The engine light codes, erratic shifting all went back to three loose screws! Double check everything from now on!

Not sure it’s fixed, light came on again coming home from work, I’ll look later, too hot. All that time leaking might have messed up something inside
