Hey all,

I have a mystery built BB 727 with a manual valve body.... (probably a modified valve body). The trans does not shift in Drive and does require manual input to shift. The 1-2 shift feels firm as it should but the 2-3 shift is super slow... It probably takes 1/2 a second to shift under hard acceleration with the shift being kinda soft. Before I invest much time and effort into this trans, can anyone give me a rough idea on what might be causing this issue?

Thank you

Since the shift is soft in addition to being lazy, you might have a sealing problem at the front clutch; either worn sealing rings or hardened/shrunk lip seals. An air test is in order.
