I re-did my hood scoop the old one had only 1-1/2" over the rear barrels the new one has 4-3/4" picked up 2 mph and when it comes off the stop it pulls super strong and never quits pulling. Doing a new hood scoop is not an easy task if you do a custom but sometimes it's they only way to make it right. Picture of new and the old setup.

Glasstek makes a good hood. A lot better than the others I’ve owned.

Most (actually all) Bigger HP cars I do here the scoop gets mounted to the carbs and we cut the hood around the scoop. May save you some $$ and have a scoop that is more beneficial.
