I’m looking for a new lift off hood. I have changed up a few things and need more clearance with my new set up. The new carb and spacers are about 2 inches taller. I only had about 3 inches of clearance in the old hood. How makes some nice lift off hoods? Car runs high 8’s in the quarter at 151mph.

Thanks

Glasstek makes a good hood. A lot better than the others I’ve owned.

I re-did my hood scoop the old one had only 1-1/2" over the rear barrels the new one has 4-3/4" picked up 2 mph and when it comes off the stop it pulls super strong and never quits pulling.
Doing a new hood scoop is not an easy task if you do a custom but sometimes it's they only way to make it right.
Picture of new and the old setup.

Most (actually all) Bigger HP cars I do here the scoop gets mounted to the carbs and we cut the hood around the scoop. May save you some $$ and have a scoop that is more beneficial.
