If you have the room, using a piece of screen from a screen door really helps to reinforce the area. Just make sure it's the metal and not the plastic screen. A lot of times, a place like Ace that re-screens doors and windows will have scraps laying around that they will give you.

Methyl Methacrylate JB Weld makes one it's and A+B affair thick bodied. Fillet open the back of cracks as the material fills and welds. when done detail grind, sand and paint. I've test glued and cut the bond and found it actually melds with the base material much like metal welding. As above stop drill flat plastic parts like consoles it the crack stops within the piece. Will that work on steering wheel cracks?
