On the slow road to get El Picoso down the track I have reached a point where my limited knowledge is limiting me!! LOL, I have a Barry grant 400 which we just put O rings in running up to a BG 4 port regulator. What is the pressure I need to set the Fuel pump at to feed the 4 port? Thx in advance for the help. I am going solo on this and will need to rely on the OGs to lend an OG a hand.

Thx guys. Diego

My Magnafuel 500 is set to 20psi line pressure up to the regulator and then 5.5psi at the log going into the Dommy....

With pumps that provide a lot of pressure and volume your best bet is to set it at between 5.0 to 6.5 lbs. of pressure with the motor running at idle speed so you can get set like it will be running with at the track.
I've used from 4.0 to 9.5 lbs. of pressure on some of my old race cars before switching to one of the bigger, better high pressure and high volume pump like yours is now, my current S/P car has a front mounted fuel cell with a BG 400 pump with a Magna Fuel 4 port regulator that is currently set at 5.5 lbs. with the motor idling at or above 1200 RPM running E 85 pump fuel, this combination works very well, 8.86 at 150.6 MPH in the 1/4 mile so far, soon to go faster devilup
Monte Smith had advice many racers on this forum with the bigger race pumps to use between 4.5 to 6.0 lbs. while idling tp prevent the higher pressures to foam the fuel going into the fuel bowls work
I listen and turn down my pressures on this car from 7.5 Lb. to 5.0 Lb. and saw no loss or gain in ET or MPH work scope

Glad to see ya back around you've been gone for a bit.....I base pressures on needle n seat sizes, bigger = less pressure so with .120's 6 psi max, .130 and up 5 psi or less with gas......

Performance Engineering sets theirs at 28-30. My Barry Grant can hold 6 with 32 input, but not much more. When swapping recently to 16volt it went to 38. Couldn’t turn ithe 4 port down far enough.

If it were mine it would be at 28ish and forget it. Glad to see you inching closer to racing again.

Ted, I didn't change my pump pressure setting to the regulator setting.
I did change the regulator setting to the carb from 7.5 to 5.0 lbs. with no measurable differences in performances or idling up
