I have one of the earliest ones in my '70 'Cuda with a 493" RB, scattershield and American Powertrain hydraulic TO kit. I love it. Be sure to use the correct recommended gear oil in it and break it in as recommended. I found that 4.10's with 28" tall rear tires are a great match.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Wow. I read the whole thing. That guy had a lot of patience! So, anyway, what's the best overdrive manual trans out there not the "Passon A-855?" Cause, you know, I'm gonna pass-on it

Absolutely I've heard there is some "massaging" needed, no big deal there. The big appeal here was drop out an A-833, lift the A-855 in place and in a few hours you had overdrive Damn why didn't I see that 6 months ago. Anyone interested in a 855 E body still in the crate? Did you get that "refurbished" one that GFI was advertising on their site a little while back? I thought about it, but I didn't know how I'd go about getting in my B-Body

Research on gear ratios and features like no cut install are easily decided in front of the computer but notchyness is something that is hard to get across on the internet. You must experience and feel it.
If this is a factor to you, like it is to RealWing. Get a T56 Magnum. Zero notchyness going on. It is not a straight bolt in but if quick shifting, smooth shifting, the highest power level capable and internal linkage are important to you, there is no other choice.

Wow, after reading about the Passon 5 speed issues I think I would have to pass on taking a chance with buying one. Good luck.
