Not to steal the thread, but is it similar for '70 Cuda with this trim ? No. They are plastic and readily available in several places. RT Speciality probably.

Not to steal the thread, but is it similar for '70 Cuda with this trim ? As mentioned the Cuda belt trim is held on by push pin plastic clips, on the Cuda you install the clips on the door/qtr first, them "snap" the molding onto the clips, the plastic clips are all the same size/shape door or qtr, the only clips you'll install on the door moldings before installing the moldings will be the metal stud clips that just slide in the rear of the molding at the end of the door to prevent the molding from sliding on the plastic clips once installed Mike

I’m not sure anyone makes these yet. It’s been a much sought after item. I would sure want to see pictures of the ones from Jim’s, with his reputation. The large clips at the back of the door and the two on the quarter panel were the last readily available. I think they are all gone from stock. Unless someone has stepped up to make them, I’d be surprised to find any new ones. Somome like me could have bought a bunch and hoarded them. I just barely have enough for my car. Nos cost me $100 for 10.The two at the front are different and almost impossible to find. The end one with the screw are usually still in the chrome, if someone took it off and was paying attention. The are very hard to get off without breaking them. You have to use a small deep socket and work from the back side. Jim Pati has offered a lot of items over the decades that were his exclusive products, and sole source, I found his listing just out of curiosity during this thread to see if the clips were repro/offered by anyone as I know from personal experience how hard it is to find clips for the 70-71 SE/Formal trimmed Challengers...as far as Jim's Auto, I know, I know, I know, I've heard or read the issues some people have had with them over the decades, but personally I've never experienced any issues dealing with them over the decades, never lost money, never unhappy with the parts, always got what I wanted, and service/communication has never been an issue, but then again I'm usually thorough and final in my request when purchasing parts/service so as to avoid issues...I just wish some on my customers could be like that at times...lol! Mike

Thanks for that ! The car has new sheet metal so there are no trim holes. I wasn't sure about the mounting method. If you have nothing to measure/transfer the hole location from, what I've done in the past is locate the moldings on the car, mark the body on each side of the molding, find the center of those 2 marked lines to located the clips, space out the clip location, and drill the proper size hole to hold the clips, measure twice, drill once Mike

Here they are. I think these are the 2 on the quarter and the 3 used on the door.. They look like that spring lever is just bent different maybe from installation. They are 1.5 inches wide from edge to edge... What do you think?
