Has anyone used a On engine valve spring compressor from LSM? I'd like to see one used on a stock type rocker setup.

Thanks.

I used the SC-100 on a 340 this past Winter. Once I got the mounting plate figured out, this tool was a breeze to use! I will be using it again in a few weeks. I like that once you remove the locks, you can slide the tool away to allow your hands some room to swap out springs/shims as needed. Then just slide it back on center.

I have one that I use on my -1 heads as well as a different base so it can be used on 572-13 heads. Have a set for the SR-20’s on my dragster motor. They are the best, a lot of times you just swap out the base and use same compressor part. They are kinda spendy, but after using them, you will be glad. I’ve even used them with heads on the bench when they are big springs. I have an old aluminum stock style head I could mock it up on, but they are very simple to use. Let me know, I can send you pictures. Jim.

The big block setup isn’t near that complicated, have never used one on a small block. Jim.

""The big block setup isn’t near that complicated""

I started with a smaller plate (depth wise), but I ran out of adjustment with the 2 screws up top. So I moved the tool farther away from the springs (as shown) and it worked out much better. I then added the bolts to the bottom of the plate (resting on the head) just to give the plate some more support and not all of the load is on the two rocker shaft bolts. Once this was worked out, the spring swap was quick and easy.

Money well spent.
No regrets buying the one I have.
Makes spring removal in the car a breeze.

Thanks everyone. It's been on my radar for a while, and I have other LSM stuff that I'm very happy with. Just wanted to make sure it worked on stock type rocker shaft setups, and not just ones with milled off stands. I'll put it on my wish list.

We have them for all our stuff. Common shaft and paired rockers and the predator
