When choosing a 340 solid flat tappet lifter, when do the lighter weight lifters become required?
Example: 101g versus the 79g lifters.

Thanks

The higher the RPMs the engine sees, the lighter you want your lifters. Heavy lifters will overpower your valve springs sooner in the RPM range than light lifters. If you're going to exceed 6,500 RPMs, use the light lifters.

I am planning on being in the 62-6400 range max.

Thank you!

So let me pose this another way

Would there ever be a benefit to using a heavier lifter?
(everything ive ever read says no?)
