Engine guy was very knowledgeable with r5 and r6s has a few dozen of them around his shop he had worked for Arrington for years and was involved with alot of the development. He had told me there is probably 25 hp in a purpose built cam but its going to be ruff on the valve train. I figured they had spent more money developing this stuff then i will probably ever make in my life why try and reinvent it. Would be different if i did not have to drive it track to track.

So is it a flat tappet cam in it now?
If so, sounds extremely similar to one my buddy bought and stuck in a 3000 pound ( with him on it)69 Dart with a 904 behind it.
Ran 9.40’s at 143 best pass.
Ran it several years. Nice piece.

Sounds like it's a roller camshaft, based on the lift numbers he mentioned. I have been looking at roller cams and they all seem to be around the 0.430:-0.440" range the OP mentioned. But I could be wrong

Dont remember the lift( maybe he will see this thread)
Know the motor was 12 to 1, was ran in a Busch restrictor plate deal, and the cam was 248/258 @ 50
Had a very well known head guy flow them and they went 400 ish. Very impressive heads

If it was a Busch engine, it will be a roller camshaft engine. Only the Sprint Cup stuff is flat tappet, and from what I've seen, not a lot are sold off complete. Seems to be the Busch stuff mainly, with the odd Crasftman Truck engine. Dodge hasn't produced these engines since around 2007. I am surprized more people haven't jumped on the bandwagon

You are right. I asked him. Cam specs were right, but was a roller truck restrictor plate motor. He bought it complete and running
