After switching to alky this year it was recommended to install a freeze plug style block heater to keep the engine warm between rounds.

Does anyone know a part number for a simple freeze plug block heater I can install?

Not interested in debating the block heater just looking for help locating the best part for it.

Thank You!!!

I agree a block heater would be good, BUT a freeze plug type on a race car I would be worried it would blow out. look at a oil heater maybe , Google,,, some that go in the lower hose

I used to buy them from the local Dodge dealer. Not sure if they are still available or not but might be. Very common part. I probably still have a couple sitting in a box on my shelf.

My first aky car had a in line heater in the lower hose. Never needed to use it even running in 50* weather. Just FYI I found putting a padded moving blanket over the engine after hot works well , and I assume you have a lean out Valve.

My son bought his soft plug style block heaters from Jegs. Zero issues with them.

Yeah - all the chevy guys I congregate with run them. They barely even warm up the cars - they just head to the lanes. Several track championships can't be wrong.

I have a lean out but it would be nice to pull up to the trailer door, plug it in and know its always ready for the next round, especially come fall. These tiny things are often the .000 differences between winning and losing.
