Looking to get a rechargeable hand held tire inflator to top off fronts and slicks at the track without carrying around an air tank Any recommendations? Looking for something strong enough to put 6-10 pounds of air in a tire sometimes and still hold a charge

Ive had one for years and it works great even on rear tires. I got mine from Bickle on sale

Al.. Is it the one they have online that is 59 dollars? Did you need that extra 9.99 hose, or did it come with one

Buddy of mine had a small compressor and hose mounted in the back of his car. I'm nutty about weight, so that made my head hurt just thinking about it.
Using nitrogen in the tires helps reduce having to babysit them.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Al.. Is it the one they have online that is 59 dollars? Did you need that extra 9.99 hose, or did it come with one Edit-Looks like the $64 version comes with a traditional chuck to fill the tire rather than just the screw on inflator like I have. Didn't have that option when I got mine years ago. and I just bought the hose Nope bought nothing extra..I wonder if the extra hose has a slip on connection for the valvestem. The one it came with screws on, not a huge issue for us anyway but would be nice it is just slid on I suppose. Got mine a few years ago at Christmas when I was buying some racepak stuff that was also on sale at Bickle so was a tad less.

Looks like the way to go with air chuck Hopefully it has enough steam to top off tires quickly

It as worked well for us on the rear tires, 111" rollout so big ones. We use tires pressure as a last minute adjustment to the track. When it starts to get slick/sketchy we will ad as much as a pound of air to the rear. Do the same thing on the heads up car to adjust for the starting line, just different with a small tire vs a big tire.

I have some RYOBI tools so I got one of their inflater after I saw one my Dad had. Its great for making adjustments to tire pressure but pretty slow if you had to air a tire up from flat. If you don't already have some ryobi 18V tools it may not be economical if you had to buy it with a battery compared to other options.

A bud of mine FRIED a lith piece doing primarily passenger tires ... can’t imagine it airing up 14x32s ! I will use it just to top off tires, at most a few pounds they might have lost from the previous outing from sitting Frontrunners and 28 by 275 radials, so not 14/ 32’s... or ever filling flat tires

Just ordered a Bickel one. I normally only have to let air out during the day, but it looks like it will be handy to have.

I have not had any issues with mine, guess I just got lucky. We have had it for three years used on my car and the dragster. Been borrowed by more people than I can count. Usually just needed for those long sits in the lanes or if we feel the track conditions warrant a change. Never given me or anyone else a lick of trouble. I amsure its made in China, whats not these days

I bought a Ryobi inflator this winter for the race car. Should be testing it out soon. I tried it out in the garage this winter. Seemed to work good. Looks very similar to the Bickel one.
