I just received the check valve and I cant get it to seal.
I blow in the one end to sell up and it let's the air out. Closes but doesnt seal up.
Put water in to test, thinking it needed fluid to seal and all the water seeps out.
I cant get it to seal up. Its worthless.
Anyway to these to start working?

It needs a little back pressure to seal. You might have a bad valve. Hit it with some compressed air and see if it seals better.

Can you take it apart to look at the seat and the check valve ?
If not try some spray brake cleaner and compress air with the valve held open and then retest it with it close wrench

Internal spring or no? A very light spring can help the valve seal. Is the valve itself plastic or metal?

It's a 1 piece Vibrant
Sprayed it with brake clean. No hood. Then tried WD and a little better but still does not seal up.

ok i never seen a Vibrant valve, but you sure there isn't a "up"? i have a flapper around the shop that is a swinging flapper and if the hinge is not "up" it won't seal.

Theres only a directional arrow on the valve and no matter which direction the flapper is, the same results. Leaks

So now the question is, when you shut the car off, how much force is there going back to the pan from the lines.
If I really blow hard and I mean hard, the valve will close but pressure has to be kept on the flapper.

The oil in the line has weight to it pushing on the flapper

I've always used the cone seat type in external oilers, never had them leak back.

My replacement check valve came in last night. I'm trying the Summit brand one, this time.
The good news is it seals 100%, the bad news is it feels like a restriction on the other end meaning, it feels as though it's going to need a bit more pressure for the oil to get through.
Does anyone see an issue with this?

Should I put the check valve up top at the oil pump or down low at the oil pan swinging pick up fitting?

Don't you have a loop above the entrance on the top line already? If so then that line should have some oil sitting between the fitting on the pump and the top of the loop, correct work
I would install the anti drain back valve as close to the pickup as I could get it so it traps oil between it and the pump up
I haven't had any troubles with the dual line Milidon oil systems not making oil pressure after sitting in a long time(5+ motors) shruggy

Yes. Oil line loop up top . Old Milodon oil pump setups never ever gave me trouble till I bought their new oi l pump and cover. It's a year old. I cant do anything about it yet till I pull the motor. So I have to try and see if I can get this to work till the mean time.
Going to try the check valve like you said today.

I'm curious, does anyone know who much suction pressure a milodon oil pump has?
This check valve seems to need quite a bit of suction to open.
