if replacing rings and cross hatch looks good does it still need to be re hatched.

I have seen it recommended that deglazing is not necessary. But I have never done it. I have always run something through it.That being said I wouldn't be to rough with it unless you are running plain cast iron rings.

I would use some 320 grit sandpaper between cylinder hone stones and the cylinder walls (with a lot of pressure on the stones)with either kerosene or jet A fuel as a lube and make no more than 4 complete up and down strokes in each cylinder and then clean the holy be holy on the cylinder wall finish to remove any grit or debris left wrench up twocents Change the paper after two cylinders or use them only once depending on what you see and like wrench up scope

Moly rings were made specifically to go into bores that are NOT honed. Put the rings in dry ( a little assembly lube on the skirts and NONE on the rings) and run it. They will seal.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

From https://www.extrudehoneafm.com/

Depending on the application, instructions for your new pistons will specify that the cylinder needs a bore and hone, bore/replace, or deglaze/hone. More often than not, you will need to hone your cylinder when replacing the piston rings. That is because honing creates small crosshatches in the surface of the cylinder, to allow the wall of the component to retain oil and provide lubrication for the piston ring.

Even though the instructions for the new piston may specify that honing your cylinder is required, you can also manually check and see if your cylinder requires it. Simply deglaze the cylinder with hot water and SOS pads to thoroughly clean it, and then look inside. If you can still see the original hone marks (cross-hatching) then you likely will not need to hone the cylinder. If those cross hatches have worn down, you will need to have the cylinder honed to allow proper lubrication of the piston ring.
