Nobody, ladder bars are universal and up to you to configure the installation

Kits are universal. I've used Competition Engineering ladder bars on 2 of my cars, they do as they are supposed to.

Ok, I was looking at the Chris Alston stuff, but i'm not sure of the quality. I want good stuff that doesn't break on the launch like rod ends for instants. This will see mostly street. Over the next few years i'm giving the car a make over for the car shows with a full body wrap as the last thing I do. Thanks

I used a Rick Jones/Quarter Max kit on my '66 Coronet. The design is a little more conducive to not cutting the floor. I ended up buying a lot of RJ/Quartermax stuff after that kit to finish the car. Good stuff. twocents

Ive got an S&W ladder bar kit on my Dart for probably 20 years now. I replaced the front heims as they do wear out , but other than that its been a great kit.

Chassis engineering outlaw bars. More $. But totally worth it with the adjustability they offer.

I like the idea of the safety loops.

Pay a few bucks extra for the double adjustable so you don’t have to take them apart to adjust. Then center the adjusters up when you assemble everything so you have room to shorten and lengthen the bars.

Which ever style you go with make sure they have the safety loops on the front heim joint. I know of 2 local racers that wrecked in the last 2 years due to front heims breaking. Both times the drivers walked away, but both cars were a total loss.

Yes, the caltracs are doing their job. Being its an on going project I feel its time for a face lift and I think the ladders are more appropriate for a pro street deal. This car has a full interior and is multi purpose. Shows, cruising and some test and tune track time.

great advise and will do. I will be having a chassis shop perform the install. I don't trust my welding with my 110mig. Piece of mind is grand.

If you already have caltracs and they work I wouldn't spend the $$ to change over to ladder bars, esp if you street drive the car, just my twocents

Money spent on maximum adjustability and strength is money well spent. Coilovers? Decent shocks are also a must.

What is your chassis shop guy recommending?

Backhalving the car? Minitub with stock frame rails? Really, with the systems and parts available for leafs these days, I don't think I would bother with ladders unless I was going to a big tire. Just getting the car lower can be done with leafs. And it can be made to hook.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Why ladder bars? If you are using leaf springs a Calvert style bar is just as good. If you are going to coil overs, use a 4 link. A ladder bar is always too short and the IC will always be too high because of how short the bars are.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I have two ladder bar cars and one I hope to be in the low 8’s on caltracks. I agree if I had caltacks I could never See me switching it to a ladder bar car. I know what caltracks are capibile of.

Exactly!

Leaf spring and shock technology has come a long way in the past decade.
