Hello,
does anybody knows where to get 2.19" intake valves for Edelbrock RPM heads (part nr. 60929)?
11/32" (0.341") steam diameter and 4.908" length. Seems that Hughes Engines are the only ones or I am to blind?
Dan Dvorak seems to be out of business and Manley & Co dont list them in there catalogue. Any other vendors?

And do I Need new seat or can I use the ones that come with the 2.14" valves?

thanks!
Dennis

is it worth spending the money to upgrade the edelbrock heads with larger valves? can the port support the larger valve? is money better spent getting a better head? maybe a trickflow240 or 270.. asking the questions because I don't know.

I had Pettis install 2.19 valves in my rpm's and I'd say an easy 6.15 @ 112 mph on a crappy 1.40 60 ain't so bad and I think they are REV or something like that iirc........

Absolute, but I do run old school domed TRWs and I am afraid this wont match with the much smaller and different shaped combustion chamber.
And changing pistons leads to rebalancing, etc..thats out of scope timing wise, but the TF are for sure great valued heads! Might use them for next year with a 512 Stroker as I got a brand new 337 intake to play with grin

I saw on Facebook yesterday where Dan Dvorak is in the hospital with cancer and not doing well.

I don't; know if anyone has flowed a set of the rpm heads after cnc porting and with 2.19 valves. I assume your heads still have the stock intake port and not the max wedge ports. I run a set of edelbrock heads from when the first came out and were the only game in town. it would be good to know if you gain anything by going to the larger valves.

Run down this list:

IIRC there is something that should work.

Based on my readings some 10-20+ cfm in the mid range. We dont have a flow bench so no real chance to measure it precise. Heads are already hand ported and roughly 20% larger then stock but not max wedge.
It would shift max hp too high as the car is used 75% on the street. 15 years ago Indy was overkill and RPMs the only real alternative.

Been there before but they are all a bit too long. Will talk to my engine builder if that still fits with the springs and retainers. But thanks for suggestion up

So what if they are a bit too long? By how much? .060? .100? If so, you can use a different spring for the longer installed height and get the spring load back where it should be (if it's .060 or so I'd shim the spring you have).

Then, you go to b3racingengines.com and read ALL his tech pages. Then order a geometry correction kit and you are DONE.

If you do that, and you can use a bit longer valve out of a catalog, you'll most likely never get screwed again by not being able to by a valve off the shelf.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston
