Weekend warrior/ cruise night and occasional track car. With some health issues behind me I am back up and working at almost 62 years young.. Been in a wheelchair for 20 years so my shop is set up accordingly. Benches, engine stands all lowered. Plus heat, air, satellite dish. Do all my own work, just a little different, LOL. I drive with hand controls (throttle and brakes). So after previous car learning curves this one will be built solely with that in mind. Easy for me to work on, programmable shifting, tuning, better brakes, etc. And vintage air, I'm tired of sweating. Rear suspension. Parallel 4 bar from control freak with Viking double adjustable coil overs. Mini tubs to frame rails. Ford 9 inch aluminum center section, Eaton Truetrac 3.70 gears. Wilwood 12.19 brakes. Frame connectors, torque boxes, core support brace and hidden inner fender supports.. Front suspension Gerst with power rack and pinion. Double adjustable coil overs, sway bar and 2 inch drop spindles. 12.19 brakes. Trans is a TCI 6X set up with Chrysler Reid bellhousing, 3500 stall and electronic shifting. Engine will be 572 all aluminum hemi. Finally collected everything but pushrods. Got my new KB block last month. (it was worth the wait, Very stout piece.) Pump gas 11.5 to 1. Molnar crank and rods. Diamond pistons. I have both a Charley's pan and a Milodon road race pan. Leaning towards the Milodon. with a 2 quart accumulator. Heads are Stage V customs CNC ported from FHO. Stage V rockers with FHO stands. Cam is a bullet 262/270 @ .050. 114lsa, .710 in. .690 ex. Jesel lifters and belt drive. Stage V dual 4500 intake machined for injectors and rails.. Complete Holley Dominator EFI setup from Rich Nedbal. with dual 1200cfm accufab throttle bodies. Holley injectors, Holley smart coils. All wiring harnesses. Andy F throttle linkage, cam sync ,tone wheel and pickup bracket. Aeromotive Phantom 340 pump. Rich will help me on the tuning. This will be a learning curve for me. At this time I just finished rear brakes, moving to front and installing all brake lines. Then on to fuel lines and wiring. If interested I will post pics as I progress.

Beautiful car, what size wheels and tires? Rear tires are M&H 325/45R-17 28 in. tall on a 17x12. I have enough room for a 13 maybe even a 14in. wheel and a 390/40-17. Fronts are 26x6x17 MT sportsmans on 17x4.5. I would like to have another set of wider fronts and maybe 10 inch rears for highway handling.

Nice love the modern hemi! Me thinks that block is not a gen 3 hemiroid motor Looks a lot like a aluminum KB 426 hemi block to me

I subscribed to this thread and would love to watch the progress, super cool car and combo! If you didn't mention it already, do you have a color picked out?

That's real nice. Looks like a good home for that hemi!
74 Challenger, bought it new. In 1978 I replaced the original 318 with a 446 and 727. Mild cam, Jardine headers, and Holley Sniper EFI. New engine! 511" RB, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Eagle rotating assy, Comp hyd roller cam, Doug's 2" headers.

Beauty!
The term "high end build" is slung around pretty casually but it sure applies to that one.

I like it ....what's the plans for it cruiser? I It will get driven a lot. I'm 66. My wife and I are retired. This is our last build so I wanted to put everything in it I missed on the others. It has 3.73 gears and overdrive. Plus comforts like A/C, Heat and Stereo. Pump gas EFI with maybe 110 race fuel and a different tune on occasion. We enjoy the cruise nights, small shows, etc.meeting other car people. We do a lot of just going for a drive with no destination planned. It won't see a trailer unless it breaks. But I do plan to wear out some parts.

A little update. My machinist and a person I considered a friend passed unexpectedly. Jeff Dickey, JD Engine and Machine. Columbia, Mo. His partner is finishing the align hone and balancing. I will then pick up my parts and assemble it over the winter. I have been studying Rick Seeman"s 572 KB hemi build on YouTube since mine is basically the same. Thank you Rick for taking the time to video that series. With the help of this forum it will get done. Thought I would post a few more pics on body progress. Hood was painted black yesterday and dash is being prepped. Thanks to Dan Tallant for his paint and fabrication. Did the air filter lid in body color. I am leaning towards leaving the engine aluminum.

Galen: I don't know if you picked up on it, but the last 2 blocks I got had way too small of a hole for a Mopar dipstick. So before you start final assembly be sure to check that. If it's too small it takes a "U" size drill bit to be the proper size. Since most people install the dipstick last it would get them frowny faced if they found out that the dipstick won't come close to going in. Your car is looking good.

Had to drill mine also. Found a few of the coolant air bleed holes along exhaust side not drilled completely through on mine.I will check everything once I get my parts back home. Galen.
