Took the GTX out for a ride the other day. Its a 4spd & it has new linkage, shifter & syncros. Ive drove it many times before. I went to down shift into 2nd gear to turn onto another road & got stuck in 2nd. The shifter seams to be in the neutral position. There is a noise coming from the bell housing area. Not sure what that is. Havent had the chance plus no electric in the garage right now to take a look at it. Any one with an idea ?

With a bit of luck, maybe one of the shifter arms, or mount came loose. Or maybe a linkage rod fell out. Have to get under their and see if it's an external problem. Keep us posted

Happened to me. It was a loose shift ear on the gear box.

Why did you change profiles Cawley? I see your car for sale by 69BBCUDA4SPD in the for sale section. Are you trying to hide something? Cawley or XMANJR or whatever you call yourself, your still a scammer turd.

That happened to me last year with a recently assembled car. I'd driven it up and down the road without incident and the first time I got on it hard, it stuck in second gear. I too had a new noise coming from the transmission.

Put the car back on the hoist and disconnected the shifter linkage and putting a wrench on the shifter arm turned it back into neutral position. Took a bit of effort to turn it back, but not alarmingly so. Turned out the shifter stop wasn't quite in far enough. Turned that in about a turn and no more problems.
