Hi all, does anyone know what the u-joints are on the driveshaft between the tranny and transfer case are for a divorced setup? Specifically I'm wondering for a 73 W200 with a 4-speed and a NP205.

Rock Auto says its a 7260 but that seems kind of small to me.

Thanks,
-Jon

I don't know which u-joints you need, but I'd measure them and cross reference them to know for sure. I think the 7260 measure at 2 1/8".

Just looking at the ones in my W200 they look like the small 7260 joints but i haven't pulled them out or measured them yet.

Been a few years since I replaced mine. 7260 sounds familiar... Here are dimensions for 7260’s and a Spec page from 1974 Dodge Trucks Service Manual.

My 73 W200 360, 435, 205 has the 7260 joints. I always thought they are kinda small for a 3/4T truck.

My experience with the 4x4 trucks is that the u joints, if properly cared for, cause about the least amount of problems in the entire 4x4 system. Those small joints might look a bit strange, especially with some of the driveshafts, but they must be some pretty good stuff. The Mopar designer's got that part right. Gene

Buy the good ones with that you lube from the cap end. I think they have a x after the number.

U joints with hollow grease passages are not as strong as those without those passages work twocents
Take it from a old drag racer that had to learn that the hard way by breaking more than one greaseable U joint whiney wrench shruggy
Solid H.D. units( I prefer the Neapco solid H.D joints) are WAY better up
