What would have been the original tires installed at the factory for a 69 Roadrunner spo date of Jan of 69. The car currently has white wall radials on it and I'd like to put the redline bias plys on there I can afford it. I'm just not sure if it was Firestones or Goodyears in 69.

inherited a 69 roadrunner from my grand pop.

Was your Roadrunner a 383 car? If yes, then I think the factory tire was a Firestone Wide Oval, size F70-14's. Could be a redline or a whiteline.

I always saw Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread F70s on them in '68 & '69, as far as redlines go.
Never saw anything different.
All the original spare tires in my cars & buddies' cars were the Goodyears.
Not to say another brand couldn't happen, but I'm referring to literally dozens of new Road Runners & GTXs I saw in SoCal.

Could it be a plant thing or brand thing? My new 69 Dart GTS 383 car came from the factory with Firestone Redlines. And it had about the same build date as his RR. Maybe Plymouth and Dodge used different brands of tires. shruggy

May have been a size thing; Dart GTS & Swinger340 got D70 or E70, if I recall correctly.
Pretty sure at least one if not both of my '68 Chargers had F70-14 Goodyear spares, presumed original, I was 2nd owner of both.
Can't recall what another buddy's '68 SuperBee had.
Could even be Firestone was a back-up supplier.
Just reporting what I've seen, though I don't know where the new cars @ dealerships I saw were built.
All of my 68 & 69 RRs were St Louis cars except for 1 L.A.car, and my current Lynch Road car.

I think its a plant as well as build date thing.

A 1969 Charger a couple years ago I did was a July 69 St Louis build and it had its original spare. F70-14 Good year Speedway redline

A friends 1969 Dart 383 car has its original spare, E70-14 Firestone redline ( sorry, I dont know build date or plant )

GY Speedway redlines were usually earlier in 1969 on GTX's and then they went on to GY PolyGlas redlines from what I remember when I was looking into this years back.

A-bodies & B-bodies had many differences - it only confuses the question

1969 Road Runner w/383
STANDARD tire was T83 F70-14 Goodyear SPEEDWAY red streak ***
OPTIONAL "no-charge" tire was T82 F70-14 Goodyear SPEEDWAY white streak ***
OPTIONAL $$ tire was T85 F70-14 Goodyear POLYGLAS red streak
included with the OPTIONAL $$ "spring special" A14/A15 package - T87 F70-14 Goodyear POLYGLAS w/RWL (OPTIONAL "no-charge" tire was T85 F70-14 Goodyear POLYGLAS red streak)

*** Firestone WIDE OVAL Deluxe Champion (non-fiberglass belted) tires were used at some plants/during some dates - these tires are NOT available in reproduction

the most correct without a broadcast sheet no-brainer is - OPTIONAL $$ tire was T85 F70-14 Goodyear POLYGLAS red streak - ALL year, ALL plants, ALL OPTIONS available w/383

My Dec 68 build 69 roadrunner that I’m doing had Goodyear Speedways originally. I would speculate yours would as well, as many I’ve documented have had, even past January.

yes, the STANDARD "red streak" tire was the most common

1969 Road Runner:
T82 ~ 24% white
T83 ~ 54% red
T85 ~ 9% fiberglass red
T87 ~ 8% fiberglass RWL

My BO8 69 RR St Louis car came new with Goodyear Speedways, I still have the car along with the original spare.
