I’ve got two 340 six pack carbs and i need some work on them. Theses carbs had the boosters melted in them from a carb fire I guess. Does anyone replace these properly to look and function like original? JB weld is not what I wanted to do. Thanks.

Well, I got a couple of PM’s about the booster replacement. Seems to be a common practice for Hp carb modification. The tool to replace them is a little pricy for a one time job but the boosters are cheap.

Not sure. I’m sure they have reasons. One said he did not post here much because of all the pop up adds. He repaired the boosters as part of his normal carb restoration for no additional charge but he did not do it as a stand-alone service. The other guy said he has had it done before by the carb anodizing guys and he would check if the new company still did that.

Brasswell carbs used to sell the boosters and tool. Now for tbe hacks... We made a tool out of scrap steel we machined and a flaring tool we cut up. Loose ones tighten nicely with a block of wood wedged in the barrel and a smack on the plate side with an old pushrod.
