I haven’t used it, but there’s a nice video on shooting organisol here that might be helpful: https://www.e-bodies.org/videos/Also, I have used some of Roger’s other paints and he was really helpful when I called for some specific guidance.

Thanks. Just watched the video and he switched from using the DURACRYL Acrylic Lacquer to a single stage. Very informative. Now I need to know if Roger Gibson paint that he sells is already thinned out.

Who has used it and is it ready to spray or do you need a reducer for it? PPG Duracryl DDL94012 If it's still some of his older mix, it'll be acrylic lacquer and you will need a THINNER, if he's switched it over to Acrylic Enamel like some of his other paint products, then you'll need a REDUCER, whether your using thinner or reducer be sure to use the slowest drying you can, avoid heavy coats, 3 to 4 light coats, some will suggest to spray it over a primer base, avoid that temptation as you won't like the results, I paint directly over the gloss finish after scuffing it down lightly with a RED scotchbrite pad, IMHO your better off using the Acrylic ENAMEL Organisol substitute from PPG to avoid any paint reactions (unless your vehicle is painted in acrylic laquer?) lacquers don't like being put over enamels/urethane/etc, you can do it, but sometimes there's immediate paint reactions or perhaps down the road expansion contraction of the different paint bases will cause cracks/checks/lifting... just some forethought Mike

Just spoke to Roger Gibson and he says go with Argent Silver. It was used mostly in 1970 Organisol black would be correct too. But more in 1971 So we can assume this is a Shaker scoop?

I went with the argent silver. Just laid on my 4th coat. Just one small run which I'll sand out tomorrow and reapply. Otherwise looks great. Bullet spray pattern 3 feet away with circular spray pattern getting creases and openings 1st .

I have a gallon of DTL 105 I use with these types of paint. It is a slow thinner and it was the last lacquer thinner my PPG supplier had or can even get anymore. When I shot my 70 Cuda grill with the paint from Badalson using todays thinner it was so fast that the paint only came out in spider webs.
On organisol I don't use the lacquer paint but I use a formula I have come up with that works really well and gives the same appearance without getting to rough. Much easier to spray.

Was the thinner tou used with Badalsons organisol VIRGIN Lacquer thinner? I cant seem to find any PPG DTL lacquer thinner anywhere.
