Ideally I am looking for a poly plastic 30 gallon fuel cell with a sending unit, foam and sump with outlet(s) and two outlets on top. I can find a 20, but not any larger. Just throwing this out there if anyone knows of a 30. Thanks.

Why do you want to carry that much fuel.. when I built my tank it was 18 gals.. that last a long time and you dont have to carry that much weight

I’m de-tuning a race car for the street. It is already set up with a trunk mounted cell and pump. Since the car probably will get about 10 miles per gallon lol I want to be able to drive without stopping at every gas station along the way lol

My 416 usually gets about 13mpg loaded on drag week (4200lbs or so with passenger and gear). I have an 18 gallon tank and I think the farthest we have ever run was like 140 miles or so on a tank. At that point you get fuel just because you don't know the area and don't know when you will see fuel again. Also after that long at 3000RPM -3500RPM even with tail pipes and stock seats its time to get out for a few minutes. I couldn't imagine going 300 miles lol.

30 gallons of fuel is nearly 200lb. plus the weight of the tank. The tank itself will need to be more substantial for the weight, as will the mounting, and it will be over 4 cubic feet.. That's a bunch in the back of a car with a race type suspension. If you're set on that amount of fuel, 2 15 gallon units may be something that makes sense. Or a single 20 gallon. Or some configuration that allows for a second, easily installed and removed tank for use on road trips that can be removed or emptied and isolated to go to the track.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Not a bad idea, 2 tanks would allow one for pump gas and one for race gas.
