Good Morning Everyone,

I just received a reconditioned AC/Heater control vacuum canister (small one) and for the life of me can not find where it mounts. I have the service manual, and have searched the internet. Anyone point me in the right direction, or have a pic?

Thanks in advance!!
Jim

I don't know about 69 Charger, but my 71 Satellite has it under the battery tray.

parts book can usually give an idea where it goes, though in this case, not so much.

This might help

Thanks, but these cover the large headlight vacuum canister, under the battery tray. I am looking for the small vacuum canister location that runs to the Heater/AC controls.

Thanks,

Jim

Is it mounted on the heater a/c housing?

Hi CSK,

Then do you know where the vacuum lines that go to the AC/Heater Control
are connected? Do they just run to the engine vacuum?

Thanks!!
Jim

I have never seen one for ac controls.
they generally tap vacuum off the christmas tree (if you have power brakes) off the back of the intake manifold.

can you post a pic of this canister you have?

There is a small vacuum can under the battery tray on my 1970 Charger parts car. I think it has something to do with the A/C.

Yes, the 70 B body uses a small canister under the battery tray mounted to the front/inside radiator yoke...I'll look at the factory prints to see if I have anything on 68-9 B body AC set ups?

apparently so.
the repro ones don't look the same.

I would have guessed for some of the low vacuum cars but I thought those couldn't be had with a/c anyway.
but I guess even the heat only cars needed vacuum for the switch.

i'm confused. [nothing new there ! biggrin] my 69 has the can under the battery tray for the headlights, but it looks identical to the "ac" can shown in the link to classic. "if" i had ac, would this can also be used in conjunction with the ac controls, or would my car get vacuum from the christmas tree on the intake, or both ?
