Finally go pictures of the front of the block with the part number
P5153452 R3 Magnum block, I'm going to get it as it is virgin never machined and the price is right.

Probably a nice block but not really an race "R" block.

From the instructions:

"Magnum Race Blocks
Magnum race blocks are designed for general HP use and
entry level racing. These blocks are a heavy duty 5.2L (318)
Magnum (P5153579) or 5.9L (360) Magnum block
(P5153452)."

Certainly not inexpensive new, Jeg's shows about $3,550. Not sure if they are really available as it says to call.

P515 should be an R3 derivative.

Go take a look and check out the filled in pan rails, main cap support, lifter bore beef and so on. Should be very R3-ish because that's the origin of the product.

The whole "magnum race block" thing is strictly marketing hoo-ha to account for a couple really minor machining variations...provisions for a magnum crank sensor mostly.

I vaguely recall a conversation with Jim S. around 2012 or so, where he said he couldn't get the magnum lifter bore spiders to work. I am pretty sure that aspect of them is not very "magnum" at all.
