Putting together a 433 Hemi for my mostly street 64 Plymouth. Running stock 64 aluminum cross ram and carbs. 10.5 compression Stage 5 heads with .280 valve to valve clearance. What mechanical roller would work well. Tried a 320 duration .650 lift that I had laying around, and had valve to valve issues. What do you have laying around that would work?

I would call Cam Motion or let Dwayne Porter hook you up with a grind. No way would I do an off the shelf grind. I'm surprised that even today, so many guys still want to open a catalog and buy a cam. Just not my favorite thing to do.

You can also call...

Dont forget MoparRich...he has built a lot of Hemi's too. I used his recommendation to have crane build me one. My 572 is only 9.5 to 1 so we used a wide lobe separation angle, 628 lift and only 242@50 ish cam, mild street, good idle, EFI compatible. Pushrod oiling, 66550-16 lifters, stageV rockers, Dechellies top fuel shafts, Comp 959 springs, crower lash caps... Tim

The valve interference during the over lap at TDC is the cam causing that, you can put less duration at .050 in it to cure that thumbs
On your deal I would look at a cam with between 255 @.050 to around 266@.050 on both lobes with as much lobe lift that you can get and have it ground on 110 to 112 LSA and installed it from 3 to 6 degrees advanced on the intake lobes scope twocents

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Very good choice cab IMO , as with all long runner applications I would have 4 more degrees of duration on the intake lobe. And no real need to go over .625” lift. Just stressing out the valve train and will gain very little hp improvement. A 112 cam will help with intake manifold vacuum.
I would call bullet cams , great products and quick turnaround on custom ground pieces.

I appreciate all the good information. I have had some Max wedge cars, that ran well on the street. Can you build a cross ram hemi with street manners?

cant go wrong with Scott Brown or Porter, they have a LOT of experience with Mopars.

I have been using Scott for a long time now, and even BES agreed with his latest cam that's in my RB, ( I figured they would want to change it )

Mine is just a little ole Billet 55MM Roller custom nitrous grind cam. Made great power even on motor on the dyno for a pump gas street car.
