If I could get someone with a 70-71 challenger to do a quick pull tape measurement, I'd appreciate it. Just pulled my new AMD front bumper out of the box and tried to install it. I have the correct brackets on the car. For the 4 bolts that attach the brackets to the bumper, the outer 2 line up fine, the inner 2 are both off 2". The distance between the inner 2 bolts on my brackets is 19 5/8". I'm pretty confident the bumper is bad, but if someone can just measure between those bolts as installed on their bumper, that would work. thanks

I have a 73 Challenger, but when I restored the car, I installed the 70-71 bumper brackets so that I could suck the bumpers in, and I got the correct bumper for the brackets. I just measured mine, and the distance between bolt hole centers is 23 1/4". Are you sure you have the correct brackets? Yours being 19 5/8", that would roughly account for your difference of 2" per side. Could yours be 73-74 brackets?

My left side part numbers are in the parts catalog, but not the right side. weird. All 4 of the numbers are in close sequence, so it seems like the correct pn for the car. your dimension of 23 1/4 pretty much matches up with my AMD bumper, so I guess it's a bracket issue, they sure don't look bent or modified...........

From my parts manual

bumper -

1970 early 71 - 2962275
feb 71 to jun 71 - 3595062
after jun 71 - 3595032

Not sure what is different exactly, I know the jacking point changed, but not sure if that is all that changed,

you bracket numbers match my parts manual info.

Well, I assume the bumper in the before pic is not the AMD part. If not and it didn't fit, why would you think it's the new AMD bumper that is the issue?
