There was a clutchflite trans with a winters short shaft conversion priced good at 700 in the trans section last month. If you want to split it up, Id buy the clutchflite portion.

Doc I tired to PM but you are over your limit. I have a shorty stock trans (ain't sure if that is what you want) but I wrote myself to take a pic when I get over there (likely tomorrow).

Club cab trucks had short output shafts but they were fixed yoke.. rb. .... I hear you on that but IF we are thinking about the same thing .., I think one that you are referring to is the one that has the bolt on flange at the end of the output shaft that the u joint attaches to. That one isn't short enuff - thx for the thought though.

I had one of those a few years back. I sold it at a swap meet for $40 and was happy to get rid of it. Actually had a hard time selling it since most people didn't know what it was and the other folks didn't want it. AF .. that's the same way I picked up my last one - a long LONG time ago ... Milan Dragway at the Mopar meet !! I remember it almost like it was yesterday - he asked me THREE TIMES if I knew what it was !! He threw in a manual VB and a Art Carr shifter goose neck but no guts ! ... 30 bux !! ... but that was then ! ... The reason why he was having trouble selling it was because it was the early trans -- JUST what I was looking for !

Remember when planning? Good: driveshaft angle goes down slightly Bad: longer driveshaft is weaker and has lower maximum RPM
