Hi folks,

Have 440 6 pack in our charger, 727 RMVB w/ 2800 converter (383 Hi-po), 4:10 gear.
Probably close 4000#, dyno'd at 465HP, Peaked at 6200 RPM

Would like to trap at 6200, shift at around 5700.
Our local track is not prepped, to say the least.

Have standard wheel wells and 15X8" rims to use.
Am going to quiz Hoosier on their recommendation for compound,
but need a size that will maximize the car's abilities.

Don't plan on a lot of track time, just to know what it is capable of.

Standard rear suspension with a pinion snubber (I know, I know)

Thanks, Joe

Hoosier's recommendation was their #18155, C07 compound at 12-14 PSI.
28-10.3"
Sound right?

This is a bias ply slick and I thought the consensus was radial??

The radial will be faster, but the bias ply more consistent depending on track conditions.
If you want a street legal drag radial, get a 275-60.
I've always run M/T tires so I'm not real familiar w/ Hoosiers numbers.

I think we'll stick with a drag tire as our 275-60s hook plenty on the street.

The track... holy crap, could NOT get them to hook at all at the line,
the shift light looked like a strobe!!

Joe

PS they didn't recommend tubes or rim screws at that PSI, just some
HI Tack on the beads.

What year charger and how much room do you have with the current tires and wheels? I would run the biggest bias ply slick I could fit on your car up twocents Maybe 10.5x29 or larger work scope

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Sorry Cab, 70 Charger RT.

The 275-60 BFGs have plenty of room,no rubbing anywhere.

I'll take some measurements as far as sitting clearance, Thanks,

Joe

I don't want to burn any bridges, but it's a N. East Ohio track.

As to my current clearances, with a 15x7" wheel, standard backspace and 275-60 BFGs, I have 2" to the leaf spring, 1" to the inner fender flange if the tire would ever get that high.

So I'll check the specs on Hoosier's tires in the ranges that have been suggested, i.e. 28-10.3 and 29-10.3

Thanks all, Joe
