Ok , Am trying to identify some hubcaps I have.
I have 2 sets of 4 of this one.
One set has a dark argent painted center.

the other set is light silver painted center ( like shown here )

Which one is correct for a 67 GTX

pictures are some I just grabbed off the net

A dark argent set
( again just pictures I grabbed off the net )
These have a texture like rally wheel centers, various grills etc

Barry, that doesn't help me in anyway.
Same goes for Nicks Garage

I see the same style cap is avail for 68 under a different PT #

And I assume the difference is paint, Questions is, which is which ?

Also used in '68 - http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1968/68_Belvedere0020.jpg

Possible paint difference year to year or different vendors or ?

any of them have a readable part number on the back?

2823028 * 1967 "light argent"
2881773 * 1968 "dark argent"

Last edited by 6bblgt; 07/27/18 04:31 PM. Reason: added "light" VS. "dark"

I was able to just barely read parts of the ink stamped part number on one of them.
A little detective work I made it out to be 2823028 which is the flat non textured silver finish ones.

Something I just figured out,
the ribs on the 67 ( light argent ) center cap spokes are bright chrome

The dark argent versions ( 68 caps ) the ribs of the cap are a satin chrome finish

The 67 caps are going with me, the others probably trash can fodder

They have multiple uses, but.......

If you are just going to toss them, I would pay postage to here. ;-)

Barry, I would do that.
But theres only going to be 3 caps ( I want to keep an extra for a backup )
BUT, I leave for Arizona this weekend, Plus postage is likely not going to be cheap.

your call

Email sent, but if there is a '68 owner out there that actually needs them, that would be even better. beer

(I love wheel cover cars, so I would understand if they went to a better home.)

Thanks Dan, doing some research I was able to determine which is which.

Kept the 5 best ones for myself and gave the others away

my ultimate goal is to own a 1967 GTX , sooner than later. When I do it will wear these hubcaps and some redlines
