I bought a 1971 Dodge crew cab that was originally a 383 truck. It has a 440 in it and I’m trying to identify the year and if possible what it came out of.
On the top pad it reads H 440. Below that is 8. 10
If I checking codes correct the H means a 1972 block? However the build date on the pass side of the block looks like 1971.

Check the VIN pad on the passenger side of the block just above the oil pan, that will tell you what vehicle it came out of.
The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
