Yes it does! And yes, the drivers side; two separate cars, same side.

Hi Ron, I don't know what kind of car you have, but generally this is a worn pin and/or sloppy teeth problem that allows the back of the hood to walk up. You can grab the back edge of the hood and push up/down to see how much movement you're getting. If you can get a view of the hinge while you do this, you'll see the slop in the teeth mesh allowing the upward movement; worn pins can contribute, but usually it's time for some dental work.. Yes, I'm the hood hinge rebuilder guy.. Rick

1971 Chargers. I'll investigate the hinges more in detail and check out your website!
Thanks.

same problem with the 71 satellite - my hood doesn't walk over to the driver's side, it just doesn't go down all the way on rear pass side

What causes this and what is the fix?
Thanks, Ron
My 66 Coronet hood was perfect and then one day the passenger side started sticking up after closing. It turned out the hinge plate bolted to the inner fender had cracked.

Speaking of hood hinges... Mine must need some Viagra.
The hood on my 71 Road Runner opens and closes fine. However, the hood does NOT like to stay up. If the hood is up and I start the car, it'll come crashing down before I can even get out of the car and back out front. What's up with that? Are these "new" E-body hood hinges the same? If so, I just might buy a new pair. Car is apart for engine compartment paint anyway... Now would be the perfect time to fix said issue.
Loose pins are the problem & I'd be real surprised if the teeth weren't worn badly as well.
The repro E-bodies will fit your 71 B-body, but are slightly different on the base dimensions. I haven't had a set of these to look at yet to see how well they're made; I have my doubts about the teeth fit. They're modeled after the 71-2 style Ebody hinge. Rick

I vaguely remember someone telling me once that hinges are different too - meaning that flat hood hinges weren't as strong as say Air Grabber hinges. So if you had a flat hood car, added an Air Grabber hood - the hinges wouldn't hold the hood up. Maybe THIS is your dilemma...

I remember some talk on hear about that maybe a year ago or more, but I didn't think anything was confirmed. Plus, I have never seen anyone selling Air Grabber... No wait, let me get it right... "N96" hood hinges. If the hinges were different, you can bet your A$$ that someone would be selling used ones labeled as such for 10 times the cost of "flat hood" hinges.

Have that same problem when I put an R/T hood on a regular charger.. that added alot of weight... The springs are supposed to be different... according to Ma mopar.. 71& 72 coronet & charger "Sport & fresh air hood" springs should be part #3586094, compared to regular 2 door hoods which use spring # 3586092. 4 door springs are # 3586093. Under the plymouth section 71 &72 satellite 2 door springs would be 3586088 and 4 doors used springs 3586093.. That plymouth stuff doesn't exactly make sense.
You should be happy with some 3586094 springs, if you could find them....
