dak, I am sure you read my post as you went on to use it in quotes, there are/were many 59* sbm's faster then mine. But at the time it was built 9 years ago it was pretty stout...

OK
How about my friends small block. I have seen it stomp a few stroker big blocks with roller cams and aluminum heads. Anyways

Its a 4" stroke, stock 340 block, Cast iron W2's, compression is 13.5:1 or so. He runs a Indy Intake, no Dominator, just a 850 Holley HP, shelf TTI headers, Solid Flat tappet cam in the 260's at .050 range with .650-.670 lift area. Comp Cams Bee Hive valve springs. Small tire, leaf spring 68 Dart with Cal tracks. It make 630HP on a Dyno that has a reputation for being on the stingy side. He shifts it at 6700 rpms. Has 4.56 gears and 29x 10.5 tires. The car weighs 3150-3200 lbs with driver.
He runs consistent high 6.20's in the heat in the 8th mile.

He runs this car at about every Chrysler Classic show, and probably pus 250 passes a year on it..The motor is getting freshen'd by my guy (he built the motor also), and they said they found another 30-40 hp and 500-600 more usable RPM. Still going to use a flat tappet, and still wont have a dominator.
Id say if he would add a roller cam, and a Dominator he would be above 650 easy on the same Dyno, and would put him in the 9.70 range in the quarter mile.

Reckon it's right popular.
I go back and read through it from time to time.
I didn't find where I'd too much.

BTW, my phone still rings.

1 3/4 headers, etc. what`s your race weight? Is great to see a real 59* engine making some decent power....
