I'm in the same boat Dave, my overtime pays for my toys and I just came off a long summer of none, maybe after the first of the year if it's still available.still would like the casting number or part number for it.

Wilson told me the LD M1 wasn't as good as the 400-3.
The Indy is taller though.

Good to hear. If $800 to fully port is the price i will be sending it in. Nice ride by the way.

That isn't really an apples to apples comparison. The 400-3 is a max wedge intake while the M1 is for standard heads. Here is a shot of the two side by side.

In my case the Indy would be a bit of overkill and a pretty fair size mismatch on the 240's ,Am I correct in my thinking?

You don't want to put a MW intake on 240 heads. That combination would make less power than a good std port intake.

For a budget engine use the Trick Flow intake with the 240 heads. If you have some spare money then send the TF intake to Hughes for their deep port match. If you have plenty of money then send the intake to Wilson or to someone else who knows how to port intakes.

The 4500 intake makes more power for all out racing but there aren't any really good std port 4500 intakes. The M1 is a decent intake but it needs to be ported before it is really good.

The TF intake with a big 4150 carb is probably the best solution for most people. If you already have a Dominator then try the M1 4500 out of the box. If you want to make a lot of power with 240 heads then buy my intake. I've already done the R&D and paid the money to Wilson. You can buy it from me for a lot less than what Wilson will charge you for the same work.

Here is a Wilson ported Trick Flow intake. This is what I'll be running in my Duster. With a 4150 throttle body it should make 650 hp which will be plenty for that car.

I'm sorry I got two different combos mixed up.
Andy you're right not apples to apples.

I was running my 451 ld with stage 6 std port heads. I sent a M1 rb 4150 to Wilson and they told me to find a better manifold. I sent them an edelbrock 2954 (stg6 heads, rb manifold on ld block).
Wilson said that manifold would work for my combo (650 hp)

That was for a drag car, no street use.

The 400-3 is on my 496 with SR max wedge heads.

Sorry for the mix up.

Don

So, you had Wilson port a Victor 440 intake for you? If so, any pics of the work that you can post? And did you ever do a before & after on-track comparison between the stock and ported intake? work

Brad I will have to look for pics. I will check my logbooks for before and after runs.
The inside looks about the same as the ones Andy posted.

Sounds right. The Mopar intake I have up for sale cost me $1300 for the porting.
