I found another 400 block as a spare. Not sure if it a disirable block or not. $150. Might get it. Looks like a 75-78 yr. Says its from a police car? What do you guys think? Worth it?

Have it sonic tested and magnafluxed before committing to buy it If it is good go for it If not, you got off cheap by paying to have it tested first

I bought 2 530 blocks only for 200 each and both had really good sonic numbers, 1 was a 75 the other was a 76, used one and keeping the other as garage art.
Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

I believe my block is a 530 block so far it’s holding together. Made 838 on the dyno. Billet mains.
1971 Plum Crazy Super Bee. 572 World Aluminum block with a Cope 727 & Dana 4.10 out back. 9.88 @ 138 with a 1.35 60 NA. Dialed back to 10.0’s. 4000 lbs with me in it.

Just to add to what everyone has already told you...I'd get it. The price is great. Doesn't matter what year model it is, or what casting number it is, or what it came out of...you won't know if it's a "good" one until you have it sonic checked.
