OK I've put in many cylinders in many brands, but long story short owner lost key to car,I said buy a new ignition switch and key cylinder,he brings me a new switch and key,/tumbler no ignition cylinder I don't have the key to turn cylinder in switch to remove it and from what I read online the 69 cylinder is hard to come by so can the cylinder be removed from switch without key or or key and tumbler from cylinder without key, without ruining cylinder?

you basically have to pick the lock.
if you have the tools not that hard.
if not, as tjp said take it to a locksmith.
shouldn't be more than 25 bucks and they can make you the key.
done it a few times over the years.
give a few a call. the older the shop the better.

?? maybe i'm not understanding the question shruggy.

to change the lock you remove the switch from the dash, on the side of the cylinder up by the lock there is a push pin release. push it in and the lock slides out?

the only way to push that in is if the key is in the "on" position in the lock.
