Need help on what to do with 727 trans. It was built by CRT and is new. CRT sent me another park paw. Installed it. Still does not want to come out of park on any slight grade. CRT has not returned my phone call. Would the ball be sticking on the shift lever? Not to happy right now after spending $3100 on this transmission, since I finally got the truck together and can not even race it.

What part are you calling the "park paw"?

Shifter/linkage/cable flexing, deflecting?

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

well the good book often mentioned about setting the park brake before trans in park to avoid "the bind" of vehicle weight resting on the park pawl.....

if it's happening on flat ground (05-07 trucks come to mind) I've removed the valve body and hit the rooster comb with a dremel to smooth out a ridge that had formed over time from the ball hitting the bottom of the park notch (wear).

It is not the linkage. You have to jack the truck up, move the rear wheels forward and reverse by hand. Then you can shift it out of park. Work good on the a flat surface. Once you on a very little grade it stuck again.

definitely not rooster comb related.... sure some modification of the park rod will do it up!

to any trans builders credit... no way to check this on the bench. There it will go into park and out all day long. Personally I'd grind some on the ball end of the park rod smoothing the angle more. Since you mentioned "race"... is that race only, or does it see some street time also? It might be a "NEW"...to you trans, but most of those parts involved are just old factory stuff. Could be the lever in the tailshaft housing needing some tweeking too.

No kidding you do not park to race. How am supposed to get there if it stuck in park. Live up to it, your CRT transmission is junk. Yes I am unhappy after spending $3100 on a CRT transmission.

FWIW, every incidence of getting stuck in Park that I've experienced was due to an incorrect Park rod. The 904 rod works OK in the 727 most of the time except when under load. In the pic below the 904 is at the top.

Ok. The "you don't race in park" and the "CRT is junk" comments are obviously said in frustration. Let's get to the solution and help the OP out.

Had and issue with CRT too. Had a front clutch drum I bought and had set up and started to have problems with it shifting into high gear. Took it a art and had .145 clearance in it. Good luck in getting it fixed.

This had crossed my mind, I am very aware of the difference, but I could of made the mistake. Something that needs to be checked.

If you made the mistake, is CRT transmissions going to pay the shipping to sent it back to you to fix the problem?

are you not capable of removing the valve body? Maybe there's a member around your area that could lend a hand.

After spending $3100 on this transmission, I should not have to work on it. It was supposed to new. Plus if something else is not right with this transmission. Am I going to be the blame since I removed the valve body?

Is your shifter adjusted correctly?

Better question would be.. is the problem occuring with the linkage on or off the transmission
